Blessed Imbolc

It is unusually mild here in my neck of the woods. So it is entirely possible that I could see a sign of Spring's arrival, which is what Imbolc is all about. The snow is melting like mad and I see a lot of grass which is crazy for this region. But I myself am not crazy so I am not even going to go looking for a groundhog. We are sure to get massive cold and snow before this winter is over.

I am glad January is over. Never have I liked January (though I like the 13th because that is when our beloved son-in-law was born). Other than that, what is to like about January? It is usually cold, snowy, cloudy, a little depressing after the holidays. And what would possess anyone to make resolutions! Summer is very very far away, and the longings for porch life and fresh gardens are almost painful.

But it is Imbolc and there may not be physical signs; the Spirit of Spring warms the heart and mind.

Here I Am!! I Am Here!! Really!!

Happy 2016!! Does anyone remember me at all? It's been a long road, but here I am! Ready to jump back into the Blog-o-Sphere and try, try, try to reconnect with all my wonderful friends here. Missed everyone very much.

First things first!! My dearest husband is doing well now and is adjusting to this life after more than two years of abdominal surgeries and botched surgeries, and long hospital stays and long recovery times.  But it looks like he has finally reached the stage that he won't need more surgeries and all will be eventually normal and healthy. Takes a long time to get back to normal and healthy, but he is 90% there. Yay!!

I was having health problems too, but after a lot of physical therapy, I am much much better...advanced arthritis in my neck, but doing fine.

The rest of my family is thriving and happy and we had a wonderful gathering over the holidays.

And now here is 2016 and I expect it to be fantastic, healthy, happy, interesting, and fun.

Will you join me??

Bright Blessings to you all.  Robin

On the D/L

D/L:  Disabled List.  Pain and numbness in left arm caused by a neck issue. So off to physical therapy for the next month. I am unable to type very well; but hoping to be off the d/l soon.

I missed St Patrick's Day in the blog-o-sphere so here is my belated greeting:

Please enjoy your Thursday.

Did Someone Say Pi?

Here's a link to read about the man who first used the Greek letter π  for the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.  The Man who Made Pi

(just so you know, in the interest of full disclosure, I looked up what Pi is. I knew it's usually written as 3.14, but had no recollection from school days as to what it means; I am thinking I am not the only one.)

Not This Pye

Anyway, this year's Pi day is unique, and won't happen again for 100 years. March 14, 2015.

So I think it is worth noting.  And possibly baking a pie as well. After all, a pie is a circle, so you could go ahead and calculate the Pi of pie before eating it. Yummm!

It's a Lucky Day

Friday the 13th is a good day. Not a scary thing. Be happy and enjoy. And, after all, it is Friday. Doesn't everybody love a Friday? (unless, of course, you work on the weekends).

There are many superstitions surrounding the number 13. There are people who are outright phobic of the number 13.

For me 13 holds a strong positive power. The number 3 is quite prevalent in magickal workings, in a very good way.  Don't let it scare you.

Just be happy and embrace the number 13.

Have a wonderful day!
